Fully automatic processing of inner and outer diameters using a double-sided bonding method! CNC fully automatic piston ring inner and outer diameter turning and marking combined turning machine.

The "NRC-120" is a fully automatic lathe that simultaneously processes the inner and outer diameters of a single ring using a double-sided crimping method. Two forks arranged around the indexing device located at the center of the machine perform loading/unloading, turning, and marking simultaneously across three processing stations. In the turning processing station, the outer diameter is machined using the front slide and rear slide, while the inner diameter is machined using the inner diameter slide positioned beneath the tailstock. Kataoka Manufacturing Co., Ltd. received a request in 1998 from the Swedish company Dalos to develop a dedicated large ring turning machine for ships. Undeterred by the different manufacturing styles compared to Japan, we took on the challenge of development. We transformed "factory-intensive" processing machines into CNC, realizing customer needs with flexible ideas. Subsequently, we began the order development of the CNC fully automatic super-large piston ring inner and outer diameter cam turning and marking combined machine "VC-1100," yielding new results. Not only do we respond to customer needs, but we also realize proposals that go beyond expectations. KATAOKA Engine is continuously developing specialized machines that are at the forefront of their time. As a result, in the field of piston ring processing specialized machines, we have commercialized various specialized machines for turning, grinding, and polishing piston rings for various engines, including motorcycles, passenger cars, large trucks, and ultra-large ships, totaling 85 models. In terms of camshafts, we have developed six models of cam milling machines for camshafts used in passenger cars, trucks, generators, and ships, and we are moving forward to meet customer demands with ambitious development similar to that of piston rings. Additionally, based on the technology we have cultivated over many years, we have commercialized five models of turning machines for various non-metallic special sealing rings, continuing product development with a total of 96 models. Even now, we are actively advancing concepts and designs to respond to requests for innovative specialized machines based on medium- to long-term perspectives from various industries. Kataoka Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.'s camshaft machining dedicated machine was developed in 1992 following an unexpected inquiry from an Indian trading company, leading us into an unknown field. Although we were well-versed in piston rings, the lack of technology and know-how regarding camshafts made new development nothing short of a risk for our company. However, in response to our hesitant answer, Mr. Nagpur, the president of Cummins India, offered, "We will cover the development costs." Thus, applying the technology of elliptical machining, the camshaft machining dedicated machine was born. Our past achievements have been recognized, and we have received development requests from both domestic and international sources. The camshaft dedicated machine, which started for generators for the Indian trading company, has now expanded widely to applications for ships and passenger cars.
